Grasp the opportunity

You think you have the trading skills to thrive in one of the most volatile markets at the heart of the energy transition. A highly competitive mindset is required to succeed in the US power markets, where prices across thousands of nodes change every five minutes. As a trader, you will become part of our US Power Trading team — a young and ambitious team within Northpool — with the opportunity to distinguish yourself quickly. Together with your colleagues, you will focus on continuously changing market drivers and develop strategies to profit from the opportunities presented by these markets.

Your goal? Outperforming the competitive market, making the deals that count, and becoming the best power trader, you can be. You will learn how to operate our trading tools in detail and develop profitable trading strategies together with experienced traders, backed by heaps of data. After the first couple of months, you will begin testing your strategies in the market to gain hands-on experience and learn directly from the results.

No two days will ever be the same. A good trader needs the mental flexibility to adapt to constantly changing market situations. You must also be resilient - "thick-skinned", as losses are part of trading and not every strategy will succeed. The key is to learn from setbacks, move forward, and stay focused on executing your next trades.

Your challenge? Becoming a master in trading by understanding the fundamental outlines of the market circumstances, correctly assessing risk versus reward, and identifying and capturing market opportunities.
