GRASP THE OPPORTUNITY

Northpool has 4 trading desks: an intraday desk, short term, long term and algorithmic trading. All these trading desks need their crucial data to make the best trading decisions, each trading desk has its own requirements that must be taken into account. Our trading desks are supported by the Operations, Data & Analytics department, which also includes our Data Engineers.

All dashboards, models and databases are built internally by us. Our team of Data Engineers collects the data and ensures that it is processed correctly so that the Data Scientists and Analysts can use it to build models and tools.

As a Medior/Senior Data Engineer, in addition to programming, you will be responsible for coaching the Junior Data Engineers and transferring knowledge within the organization. You will be asked to think along about new developments that are needed and how we can further optimize the various data flows.

Your challenge? Ensuring that the data flows are set up as optimally as possible and creating the conditions for the team of Data Engineers to excel.

Your goal? Organize and improve the ELT process and our data warehouse as optimally as possible so that we continue to be ahead of our competitors in the energy market.

WE ASK:

  • A degree at BSc or MSc level
  • At least 2 years relevant work experience
  • Drive to deliver solutions for the high-end trading environment
  • Good social and communication skills
  • A strong responsibility and willingness to take ownership about your work
  • Excellent SQL programming skills
  • Knowledge of database architectures (Data Vault, Kimball)
